AllChars is available in a Windows setup version (automatic) and a zip archive (do-it-yourself). If you don't know what I am talking about - you better get the 'Setup' version.
If you are updating AllChars, save your AllChars.INI file if you want to keep it. Stop AllChars ('Exit AllChars' in the popup menu) and uninstall the old version before installing the update.
Windows XP, 2000, NT 4.0, ME, 98 and 95
Version 4 has been released. For now this is the best version to use on Windows XP, 2000, NT, 98, etc..
Download the latest version 4.0 from SourceForge
If updating: first backup your old AllChars.Ini file, stop AllChars and then uninstall the old AllChars.
Please report bugs on the AllChars Project Section on SourceForge.
Version 3 users: please update to version 4.
Watch out: AllChars version 3.6.2 causes problems with many (Open Source) Software programs and games. Always install the 3.6.3 patch afterwards.
All versions can be downloaded from SourceForge.
The developers are working on AllChars Version 5 that will also run on Windows Vista.
There is a Alpha version of it available for download on SourceForge.
Older versions work partly on Windows Vista. Macro's do not work but the composed characters work in most programs, but not al(ways).
See the AllChars SourceForge Project for more info and work in progress.
Windows 3.11 and 95 or 98 with little memory
